Manually register a device with Windows Autopilot
The following instructions assume you have reimaged the device and it is in an
unconfigured state.
- Make sure the device is connected to the internet.
- Open a Command Prompt ( Shift+F10 or Shift+Fn+F10 )
- Enter the following commands one-by-one in the command prompt:
PowerShell.exe -ExecutionPolicy Bypass
Install-Script -name Get-WindowsAutopilotInfo -Force
- If you get a prompt that requires you to install NuGet, input “Y” to
accept and hit Enter.
Set-ExecutionPolicy -Scope Process -ExecutionPolicy RemoteSigned
Get-WindowsAutopilotInfo -Online
- You will be prompted to sign in. An account with the Intune Administrator role is
sufficient, and the device hash will then be uploaded automatically. - After you confirm the details of the uploaded device hash, run a sync in the Microsoft
Intune admin center. Select Devices > Windows > Windows enrollment > Devices
(under Windows Autopilot Deployment Program) > Sync. - While you are still in the Devices tab, search the serial number or service tag of the
device you just added. It may take a few minutes to appear. - After the device appears in your device list, and an Autopilot profile is assigned (takes
10 – 30 minutes), restarting the device causes OOBE to run through the Windows
Autopilot provisioning process.
Once a profile has been assigned, restart the device, it should download the Autopilot
Profile and be ready to sign into.
